Hi there, my name is Kayla Anderson, and welcome to my blog!!

I am a self-taught cook, based in San Jose, California. I am an architect by profession. But on my days off, you’ll either find me in the kitchen trying out new recipes or on the streets, on the hunt for new, exciting restaurants.

I am quite adventurous with my food. I’m constantly in the kitchen, cooking up something new and mixing up ingredients you would never think would go together. Bruce, my canine sidekick is my official taste tester and is very serious about his job. At this point, I think it’s safe to say my kitchen is a permanent mess after one too many of my experiments.

About the blog

In the year 2016, I opened a small little cafe called The Saffron Bistro. The goal was to provide delicious home-cooked meals coupled with nutritional values. The menu features some of my original recipes (all approved by Bruce, of course) and is a place for people to eat good food in the presence of good company.

The cafe became my inspiration to start blogging. So when I started the blog, I named it after the cafe, cause it represented everything I’m passionate about. The blog is all about celebrating good food, that nourishes both the body and the soul.

What’s next?

I plan to post a good amount of original content on here. You can already find some here, but there’s more on the way. There’s a little bit of everything at TheSaffronBistro.com.

Whether you’re a newbie looking for some tips, or an experienced cook searching for something new and exciting to cook, TheSaffronBistro.com has something for everyone. I hope this blog inspires you to step into your kitchen and get started on your own creation.
